Stop your attacker with a self defense groin kick

In today's scenario you usually find a lot of criminals who may attack anyone with horrible intentions like to rob something, to show their influence, to produce fear, to abuse someone or also to kidnap and rape you. You can't guess what is going on in the criminal minds of such psychics who might attack you wherever and at anytime. The local public is rarely going to help you, please do not expect them to come forward to save you, they love their lives just like we do. We are not existing in the world of superman, spiderman or batman who might come to your rescue. So it is sensible to know to save and defend yourself from these heartless attackers. There are a number of self defense methods that help you to a great extent.

You might try and fight back on the assailant by giving him a punch or a severe hit on his face, but remember you are a normal human being, not a super star or a Hollywood hero. You can take a pepper spray and spray it immediately on the asailant's eyes, these pepper sprays or perfume sprays are really helpful for the women who are physically feeble to fight against these muscular attackers. But the best self defense method is to kick hard on the groin region of the assailant. When he gets a kick on the groin region he falls to a great extent where he starts shivering with pain. Now you can take a good advantage of this situation and run for your security.

Well your martial art classes where you are trained for Kung-fu, Judo-Karate can aid you during this critical period to save you from attackers. Your teacher who has taught you to fight successfully for your security usually tells you about the places which can be attacked that causes the attacker to fall and you take the benefit of this. For a man the groin region is the most sensitive organ of the body and it is highly responsive, so when you hit on the groin the assailant will loose his balance and feels shivers in his entire body, and that is a fantastic way to protect you from these brutal giants. Hence the women can surely protect her is she gives a hard hit on the groin region of the attacker.

You should use your common sense and act spontaneously to fight against the assailants. When the assailants come closer to you and cluth your shoulders or any part of your body and you are sure enough that your kick will hit him on his groin accurately, gather your strength and with all your energy kick him severely on his groin region. His groins are very delicate and cause tremendous pain due to which his hold on you becomes loose and you get an opportunity to escape. But to give him a severe boot on his groin you need to be confident that you will hit him on the perfect spot and so severe that it will give you an opportunity to flee, as this will be your ultimate and final opportunity to help yourself.

Women need to live in this world where they need to step out of their houses to earn an earning. They may usually come across the attackers who assault with some dirty intentions in their mind. so women need to be trained sufficiently so that they can save themselves.

Women should learn self defense techniques to save themselves from the attackers, learn to kick on their groin at Lotus Self Defense Learn to defend yourself wisely at How To Defend Yourself kick hard on groin of the attackers and know more about this technique at LotusSelfDefence.com

My Teeth are Now Zoom! Whitened

Let me tell you about my Zoom Whitening experience. For those of you who are unaware about teeth whitening products, the Zoom product is professional use only. Works rather quickly as opposed to the every night crest whitestrips. But it does cost more.

I went to the dentist’s office and was setup with the dental assistant. She went over my teeth to remove and plaque or residue to have a clean tooth surface to apply the zoom gel. They put something on my gums to protect them from the gel. It felt like rubber, but it was a gel that was in a tube. They had an appliance to hold my mouth open so I didn’t have to hold a terror scream position the entire time I was there.

Cotton ball rolls were used to hold my lips off my teeth. They basically want your teeth exposed, only your teeth, and to just let them hang there in the air while they apply the gel. She painted on the gel, which is a hydrogen peroxide gel. Then they used a Zoom light to enhance the whitening. It looked like a black light. She told me that it made the peroxide act quicker and faster, and after researching, I found that using the light helps by over 33%.

They did my six front teeth, top and bottom, 12 total. First, they applied the gel, did the zoom lamp, and then they wiped off the gel, and applied more gel. They did this 3 times to the same set of teeth. So, overall, it took about an hour and a half before I was ready to go. I got to catnap in between whitening.

What happened after I left?

The zoom whitening continued to whiten my teeth for 12-18 hours after the procedure. So, I couldn’t drink any heavy staining drinks like coffee, cokes, or tea. But wait, I’ll miss my caffeine rush. You might need a caffeine pill or take an Excedrin migraine pill. I think they have caffeine.

It was uncomfortable to have my mouth propped open for so long, and the chemical gets into the enamel, dentin or pores of the teeth so they were sensitive to everything. But, about 20 hours later, I was good as new. The whitening had taken effect and my teeth were no longer sensitive. I heard some people it takes up to 3 days to get back to normal, but I was fine.

I wanted to share my experience with you if you were thinking about the zoom whitening in office treatment. They also had a home treatment you could use, but I wanted to take advantage of the 33% more whitening with that zoom lamp they used. I can tell they are whiter. Suppose to get up to 8 shades whiter. I don’t know how much I got, but it does look better.

Cost? Mine was about $250 total. I’m sure it varies depending on where you go.

Anciety and Panic Attacks Treatment with Hypnotherapy to Cure Panic Attacks!

Hypnotherapy has been used as a treatment for different types of physical and mental conditions for a long time now. It has been more than thousand of years now that this therapy is utilized throughout a variety of cultures. In the mid 20th century, modernized version of it was introduced as a medical technique. This was supported by both American as well as British medical Association.

When it comes to panic attacks, there are several ways hypnotherapy can work. In fact, the therapy has been proved helpful in several cases of panic attacks and individuals have been extremely happy with the performance and its effects.

It is sad but true that about one third of American population has already suffered form a panic attack at least once at same point of time in their life. There are several reasons for this. One of the main reasons remains ignorance about the disease, symptoms and treatment options.

One of the most effective options is hypnotherapy. It will help a person to cope up with panic attacks very efficiently. The treatment is fast and does not leave a negative impact on the patient. The technique helps the person to experience relaxation in a positive and quick pace.

Hypnotherapy has been extremely successful in teaching panic attack sufferer a brand new way to think as well as behave. There are a lot of breathing exercises and visualizations included in the technique in order to make the sufferer fearless.

The latest accepted technique of hypnotherapy for curing panic attacks is known as hypo- analysis or Analytical Hypnotherapy. This herapy is extremely focused as well as intensive type of talk therapy that helps a patient to be in a safe as well as secure environment. Thereafter it makes the patient travel through the process of identifying as well as underlying cause of patients phobia, anxiety or panic attacks. The process is carried out via using hypnosis.

Once the ulterior cause of panic or anxiety is identified and minimized, all symptoms associated to it would reduce dramatically.

The process of treatment that utilizes this therapy can take a long time and may also be heavier on your pocket. However, the process is extremely effective and facilitates the patient to undergo a self analyzation as well as understand the actual source of fear and anxiety.

A lot of studies have reported success of hypnotherapy in curing panic attacks. Many researches have even suggested effectiveness in helping patients get rid of panic attack.

Experts recommend to try some sessions of hypnotherapy to experience its effectiveness. This will help you get a feel of whether it gives you any impact on your sense of anxiety and well being.

Panic attacks can be quite uncomfortable, abnormal, scary and even stop you from carrying out your daily life activities.

Turning to hypnotherapy will surely help you achieve your goals. It will provide you a life that’s free of any kind of panic or anxiety attack.

Greg Winteregg, DDS, on Dental Associates

More than a few times a week I am asked to answer questions regarding when a Dental Practice should bring on a new Dental Assocatate. The questions come from dentists who need one (or think they need one) right away, as well as those just entertaining the idea for the future. There are obvious pros to adding an associate: more service for your patients, potentially more time off, someone to cover emergencies, etc. There are also some just as obvious cons: your patients may not like the new doctor, and you might worry about them making off with your patient base, etc. Thirteen years in private practice and close to as many as a trainer/consultant have taught me one hardbound rule: there is definitely a right and wrong way to go about this associate business.

If you are considering bringing on one or more dental associates (whether this is now or ten years from now), there are several things to consider:

1. When should you get an associate?
2. How would you structure compensation?
3. What's the best way to find one?
4. What are the important points to cover when interviewing?
5. How will you integrate them into your practice?

I'll start with number one: When should you get an associate?

This may be the most important question. This is also where the most errors are made. Let's say you are doing moderately well, still have some openings in your schedule and get about 10 new patients per month. You decide to expand your hours and bring in an associate to become more productive. The reasoning seems sound – you are adding more hours and providing more treatment opportunities for your patients – but this rarely works. New patients don't magically show up, the associate is unproductive and unhappy. You either a) let him or her move on or b) start moving work from your schedule to make the associate busier/happier. The net result is less profit and a problem, i.e "how do I keep my associate busy?"

In this scenario the office was in no position to justify adding an associate. As such, this begs the question: How do I know when the "right time" is? To answer this question, ask yourself the following:

1) Is your practice growing (or has it grown up to now and you just seem to have "maxxed out")?
2) Are you scheduled efficiently?
3) Is your business profitable?
4) Is your schedule relatively full?

If you answered "Yes" to all of the above, now is probably a good time to add an associate.

I'll give you this scenario: Your practice has rapidly (or steadily) expanded up to a point where you can't take in more patients than you currently are. You are operating efficiently and the office is profitable. You just can't see more people and things start to book out a couple of weeks in advance. Now is the time to add that associate to serve three purposes:

1) To provide faster and more efficient service to your patients,
2) To lighten your schedule so you can focus on the type of work you want to do and
3) To increase practice productivity.

If my practice was in the above situation, I would look at adding an associate – perhaps one to two days a week to start and roll from there.

From a practical standpoint, I would also look at how many charts I had. In my experience, handled effeciently, 1,000 charts can keep a doctor and hygienist productive. Maintaining a ratio of one doctor to one hygienist seems to also work well. If you are already have two full-time hygienists (who are booked), you may need an associate now. However, you also need to consider the other points above.

Business survival is inexorably connected to expansion. If the practice is growing (even a little bit), there will come a time when you can't produce any more yourself and need an associate. The level of production that will require an associate will be based on your style of practice, fees, type of dentistry you do, and other factors.

At MGE (http://www.mgeonline.com) we suggest you get an associate when there is more work than you personally can handle and patients are being pushed out on the schedule too far.. How long is too long for them to wait? Although this is ultimately your decision, it shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks. Too long of a wait is just not good service!

One of the questions asked above when deciding whether or not you should add an associate, asked about expansion. How much expansion do you need? To start, are you even getting enough new patients to support yourself? How many should you be getting? This depends in a large part on how you practice, but I'll give you a basic formula to use:

1) Take your total number of active charts
2) Multiply this by 20%
3) Divide "b" by 12 (months in a year)
4) The figure from "c" above gives you the minimum number of new patients you should be getting on a monthly basis to maintain your practice's health. Note that this is just to keep you going. You would definitely need to exceed this number to add an associate.

Example: Dr. Smith has 1200 active charts. 20% of this is 240. 240 divided by 12 is 20. To maintain a healthy practice, Dr. Smith should be getting at least 20 new patients each month.

Keep in mind this formula assumes a couple of conditions exist:

1) The new patients are fee-for-service.
2) The doctor has an acceptable skill level when it comes to treatment presentation and acceptance (which is reflected in production and collections).

If you want an associate, I recommend that you far exceed this 20% factor. This is where the "MGE New Patient Workshop" comes in handy – whether you want an associate or not. If you want more fee-for-service new patients to keep your practice healthy, to expand or to make it possible to add an associate the "New Patient Workshop" is the solution.

Anxiety Attacks - Can You Inherit an Anxiety Disorder?

There are many factors that contribute to the development of anxiety disorders. All of them play a role in creating the necessary conditions for panic attacks, panic disorder and other phobias and anxiety to play an overwhelming role in your life.

One important factor might be the inherited, long term or sustained risk that predisposes you to panic and anxiety.

Inherited risk factors such as biological causes, childhood circumstances and accumulated stress are the long term problems that set the stage for potential panic and anxiety problems. In order for these long term factors to come into play, they usually need to be triggered or activated by short-term problems.

These triggers can include excessive stress, trauma or conditioning. Once panic attacks or anxiety have entered your life, they only stay in your life because you are maintaining the causes that are fueling them.

Your maintenance of panic and anxiety include nervous or agitated self talk, excessive worries, and avoidance of fearful situations.

In people who have panic disorder or some of the other anxiety conditions, the alarm system is triggered even though there is no danger and many scientists don´t know why this happens.

Panic disorder does seem to run in families, which may mean there is a strong biological component but many people with no family history develop panic disorder which suggests that biology is not the only factor at play.

There is a lot of controversy about whether panic disorders, phobias and anxiety can be inherited. Research has not uncovered a magic gene that controls anxiety or clear evidence that your parents are to blame for you condition.

That would be a convenient source of blame but it´s not the silver bullet. However, studies using twins show an increased likelihood that one twin will have panic disorders if the other does. These studies seem to support that at least some of the responsibility falls to your genetic design.

What many researchers and experts on this subject believe is inherited, is a personality type. If the personality type you inherit is predisposed to be anxious, volatile, excitable and reactive you are more likely to develop an anxiety disorder.

However, the manifestations of that reactive personality depend on the stresses you are exposed to in childhood, adolescence and beyond.

You may never had the opportunity to develop full blown panic disorder or agoraphobia because you were raised in a nurturing environment and were surrounded by supportive people. It´s the old nature and nurture argument.

Since nurture plays a role, here are some contributing factors that might predispose you to panic attacks or anxiety disorders. If your parents were overprotective this may lead to an excessive worry and concern for your own safety.

The fearful attitude of your parents about catching a cold, crossing the street, not climbing too high etc. etc. will cause and reinforce a reluctant, fearful view of the world is a dangerous place. If your parents were high achievers and expected the same from you it could have had a detrimental impact.

The high standards and the strive for perfection may have made you a perfectionist and too self-critical. These traits can lead to anxiety disorders because perfection is impossible to achieve and a lifetime of coming up short can certainly fuel a doubtful, anxious personality

Growing up in an insecure environment, either physically or emotionally can lead to anxiety conditions. Aside from the more obvious physical, sexual or emotional abuse, experiences such as divorce, death, or an alcoholic or addicted family member can lead to excessive clinginess and lack of confidence later on in life.

Regardless the reasons for anxiety problems, they can be dealt with and while it may not solve the underlying issue that caused or triggered your panic attacks or other anxiety, it can stop the panic attacks in their tracks and that´s the first step to regaining your life.

How to Treat Bronchitis

The Top 9 Bronchitis and how to treat Bronchitis Tips

Bronchitis information isn't always reliable when you search on the web, as too many people are trying to sell you something instead of actual providing useful resources you can use.

Below are 9 tips about bronchitis and how to treat bronchitis that I hope you find helpful.

We've spent ages looking for the most accurate bronchitis information to give you, and this is what we've got...

Tip #1

Bronchitis is the swelling of the bronchial tubes, otherwise known as the airways. These airways are the windpipes that directly connect to the lungs. Bronchitis happens when there is an irritation that occurs in the bronchial tubes. Next to the irritation, the formation of thick mucus will soon follow. Hence, the air passage will be blocked by the mucus, leading to difficulty in breathing. Bronchitis can be identified into two types: acute and chronic. The acute bronchitis is normally an illness that lasts for a short period of time. Usually, this is caused by severe cold. But most often, this is triggered by the viral infections. Acute bronchitis is characterized by the pain in the middle of the chest, cough that comes with green sputum. Fever might also happen, and a slight difficulty in breathing might also occur.

Tip #2

To deal with chronic bronchitis, often times you will need to focus on the triggers that can cause the problem in the first place. This is one reason why I'm offering a free report on how to remove asthma, allergy and bronchitis triggers from your home.

Tip #3

Chronic bronchitis is no doubt a very irritating and even debilitating condition to have. The shortness of every breath, the coughing up of phlegm, and trouble falling asleep serve as constant reminders that an individual is inflicted with the condition. In the latest stages of the disease the individual may notice labored breathing (hyperventilation), hypoxemia (insufficient amounts of oxygen in the blood) and failure of the right side of the heart. So, is there a cure for chronic bronchitis?

Tip #4

While the bronchitis attacks, patients are not allowed to eat dairy products as they increase the secretion of mucus and worsen the infection by stimulating the multiplication of bacteria.

Tip #5

Bronchitis occurs when the lining of your bronchial tract becomes infected, usually developing from a cold or flu or allergies. Then your bronchial tubes become swollen and start producing mucus. The mucus causes difficulty in breathing, wheezing and a nasty cough. If left unattended it could turn into pneumonia. Smokers are more prone to bronchitis then non-smokers.

Tip #6

The main sign of this condition is that of a yellowgray or even green colored mucus that comes up when you are coughing. This mucus is called sputum. The mucus should be a sign to you that something is wrong, especially with this type of coloring.

Tip #7

There are many things you can do to prevent the onset of bronchitis in any form. The most important thing to do is to stop smoking and avoid secondhand smoke. Avoid pollution by staying indoors during smog alerts and refrain from using sprays for cleaning, insect repelling, or deodorizing. These contain a large number of potentially harmful ingredients that can weaken your lung tissues if used too often. If you are sensitive to dairy products, avoid them because they can increase mucus formation. When you notice the beginning of a cough, get plenty of rest and apply mild heat on your chest and back before going to bed. Drink at least eight to 10 glasses of clear water every day and eat foods that are high in vitamin A, C, E and zinc. Foods that are high in these nutrients including eggs, chicken, pecans, citrus fruits, sunflower seeds, broccoli, sardines and avocados.

Tip #8

A chronic cough, wheezing, breathing difficulties and a tight chest have also been associated with the common smoker's cough. This is unfortunate as there are many environmental factors that can contribute to an infection and caused these types of symptoms.

Tip #9

In a business situation, you often see many people coming to work ill claiming it's all for the good of the company. While I'm certain they have the best of intentions, viral influenza (flu) can be spread through direct person-to-person contact or indirectly in the air and on hard surfaces. This means that if someone who's sick coughs and doesn't cover their mouth, they can put everyone at the workplace at risk for contracting the illness.

I hope that you've found these 9 tips useful as it's not always easy to find good, quality, information on how to treat bronchitis.

We searched high and low, but I'm sure you'll agree that the effort to find out more about bronchitis is always worth it!

Self Defense for Women - A Survival Guide

There are stories on the news every day of assaults on women.

Sometimes the women manage to fight back and get away, and sometimes they don't. Women can be assaulted in parking lots, in stores, in offices, or in other public places that might seem safe. Even though attacks against women seem random usually they aren't. Low estimates by the National Organization of Women say that 1,400 women per year are killed by their spouses and there are more than 572,000 reported incidents of women being battered by a spouse. These numbers increase during social, political or cultural pressure rises.

More than 100,000 of those reported assaults were so serious that the women ended up in the hospital.

According to women's groups and the police more than 130,000 rapes are reported each year. Police estimate that the actual number of rapes is six times that figure but most rapes are never reported. More than half of the women raped every year know their attackers. Stranger rape and assault is far less common than a woman being attacked by someone she knows. It's important that you know you know to defend yourself against an attack from a stranger, but it is also important to know how to stop an attack by someone you love.

Most women think that they never will be assaulted but thousands of women are attacked everyday. Knowing how to stop an attack or how to survive an attack could save your life. It's also important that you talk to your children, especially your daughters, about self defense.

Kids are especially vulnerable because they are usually taught by their parents to respect adults and to do what adults tell them to do. It's hard for parents to instill a sense of respect for authority in their kids while at the same teaching them that it's okay to scream or yell or make a scene in certain situations. Making sure that your kids understand the difference can mean keeping them safe so it's important that you learn how to talk to your kids about their own safety.

Ten Reasons You Need to Learn Self Defense:

There are a lot of great reasons that you should learn self defense. These facts should convince you to take the plunge and commit to some practical selfdefense training.

1. Violence is real - It's easy to dismiss the stories of attacks against women and say that it would never happen to you but it can happen to you. Every day women get attacked who used to say it would never happen to them. All women are vulnerable and all women are at risk. Ignoring the possibility that you could be assaulted won't change the fact that you could be.

2. If you don't know how to defend yourself you have no options in an attack - If you are attacked knowing how to fight back or having a self defense weapon could save your life, but if you don't know how to get away or you don't have a weapon you could be badly hurt or killed. Do you really want to take that risk?

3. Anyone can be attacked - You might think that because you live in a certain neighborhood, dress a certain way, make a certain amount of money, or have a certain kind of job that you're not at risk of being attacked. But your lifestyle, income, and social status won't protect you. Any woman could be attacked.

4. Self defense can save your life - Even knowing just a few basic self defense moves can be enough to scare off an attacker or get away from an attacker in time to save your life. You have the power to protect your own life during an attack if you have the knowledge and confidence to fight back.

5. Women are raised to be passive - One of the biggest factors that make women targets for assaults is that women are raised to be docile and passive. Women are taught to not speak up, to not assert themselves. How many times have you known a woman who was having trouble with something but couldn't speak up about it? How many times have you done that? Women are taught to be quiet and subservient and to not complain. Predators take advantage of that. When women are attacked by people they already know it is often because the men who attack them know that women are not going to make a fuss and not going to make a scene. Most rapes go unreported because women can't bear to tell their stories. Most domestic assaults go uncharged because women are raised to think they should put up with spouses that hit them. Women need to learn to break through that passivity and make a scene when necessary. Could you yell and scream and try to get someone's attention if you were being attacked? You need to be able to do that and learning self-defense can help women learn to be more confident and less passive.

6. Your children learn from you - If you want your children to grow up feeling confident and knowing how to defend themselves you need to know how to defend yourself. Teaching your kids to be aware of their surroundings and drilling them in self defense techniques will make sure that they won't panic in a crisis situation and forget everything they know about self defense. You can't teach them self defense if you don't know it.

7. Predators are prepared and you need to be too - If you are assaulted chances are good that the person attacking you has previously attacked others. Predators usually have a plan, and they don't count on you fighting back. They count on the element of surprise to make the attack successful. Take away that element of surprise by being prepared and you can sometimes prevent the attack.

8. You can't count on divine intervention - You have to help yourself. Have you ever heard the expression, "Pray to catch the bus, and then run as fast as you can"? Well that applies to being assaulted too. Pray that you make it out alive, and then fight as hard as you can and you might make it out alive.

9. You can't rely on anyone else to save you - If you are attacked hopefully you can get someone else's attention and hopefully some one else will step in and help you or call police to help you. But you can't count on anyone else coming to your rescue. If you are assaulted you are all that you have, so you need to know how to save yourself.

10. You could die - Just think about that for a moment. You could die. Your life could end as a result of an attack. Isn't that reason enough to learn how to protect yourself? If you are attacked and you don't know any techniques to defend yourself statistically your chances of survival aren't great. Knowing how to defend yourself and knowing how to survive an attack can be the only things that keep you alive through a serious attack.

Learning self-defense is more than just taking a class or reading a book. You need to know how to not panic during an attack and how to read a situation and an attacker instantly. You need to be able to know how to disarm an attacker and how to use a weapon yourself. If your attacker has a gun and you manage to get it away from him but you don't know how to fire a gun having that gun isn't going to do you much good. Only continued self-defense training can give you the ability to respond with a clear head in an attack situation. You can never know if you will be targeted by a criminal at some point. All you can do is know how to defend yourself if you are. And if you know how to defend yourself then you have a much greater chance of fighting off that attack or surviving that attack. When you're assaulted even if you are injured if you survive that attack then you win and the attacker loses.

The Four Main Strategies of Staying Safe for Women

Learning how to protect yourself from an assault involves more than just learning a few techniques to get away from an attacker. There are four main areas that you need to work on if you're going to be truly able to defend yourself in any situation. Using these strategies to learn how to protect yourself could mean the difference between surviving an attack and not surviving an attack.

1. Know how predators lure you in.

2. Learn to Diffuse a Confrontation.

3. Know when it's time to get physical and how to get physical.

4. Switching to Survival Mode.

Self Defense Classes

There are different types of self defense classes that you can take to learn techniques that might save your life in an attack situation. Some self defense classes are based in martial arts traditions and teach a lot of martial arts moves while some classes are pure self defense and combine the grabs, punches and other moves from a wide variety of martial arts and fighting disciplines so that students learn the best moves that could keep them alive. Self defense classes teach more than just moves you can use to escape an attacker. Self defense classes also teach you how to hone your senses so that you are more aware of your surroundings. Most importantly, self defense classes can teach you how to react to an attack without panicking and without freezing. When you are in an attack situation it's very important that you are able to react without freezing up or panicking and the only way to really train yourself to not freeze up is practice. Self defense classes are a safe place for you to practice how you should act if you are ever attacked. Another benefit of self defense classes is that you can learn how to get hurt and keep going. For most women the shock of being grabbed or being hit during an attack is enough to knock them off balance and make them stop fighting. In self defense classes you can learn how to take a hit and not get thrown off by it. No one wants to be in a situation where they are going to get hurt but if you are being attacked being able to get hit or injured and keep fighting just might keep you alive.

Self Defense Classes for Kids

If you're a parent you already know that the world can be a dangerous place for children. Like most parents you probably breathe a sigh of relief every single time they come back through the door and are home safe. But when it comes to self defense for kids it's important that you teach kids how to deal with realistic situations without making them scared or afraid of everyone. Preparation and preparedness are the keys to teaching kids self defense. Don't pretend that your kids could never be assaulted or kidnapped because realistically they could. But if your kids know how to defend themselves and know how to keep their presence of mind they could successful get away from an attacker. Some schools teach self defense to kids as a regular part of the curriculum. Does the school you send your kids to offer self defense? You should find out.

Self Defense Products

Sometimes a working knowledge of how to avoid dangerous situations and how to use martial arts and self defense techniques might not be enough to protect you from an attacker. That's where self defense products come in, as a second line of defense against being attacked. There are a huge range of self defense products on the market today. Some work, some don't work, and some aren't legal in every state. One thing that you need to remember before you rush out and buy an arsenal of self defense products to keep your purse is that if you're going to carry a self defense product you need to be sure that you know how to use it. A self defense product doesn't have to be a weapon in order to be effective.

Remember that one of the most important aspects of staying safe is remembering that violence happens. Everyday, someone who thought that they would never be attacked or never thought their home would be broken into was the victim of a violent crime. Using self defense products will give you the peace of mind that comes from knowing if you are attacked you have the skills and the products to help you fight back.

Self Defense Products for Kids

Personal alarms are also great self defense products for kids. They are really ideal for kid safety because the alarm is sure to draw the attention of adults nearby and the big buttons are easy for kids to push. A frightened child being abducted might panic and not be able to fight back but might be able to hit the personal alarm button which could scare off the attacker. Since personal alarms are small they are a good size for children's small hands. Personal alarms can also be clipped onto backpacks or snapped onto cell phone holders.

You should also have your child fingerprinted if you have not already had that one.

Travel and Vacation Safety

When you're on vacation security and safety are often the last things on your mind but you should always think about your safety when you travel, especially if you are traveling to another country. Traveling abroad can be tricky for women because the customs and attitudes towards women are very different in some other countries than they are here. Tourists are always at risk of being robbed or worse but women need to be extra careful.

Online Safety

Being online is a big part of people's social lives these days. There are online games, social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook, online dating sites and lots of other sites where people can meet and network. Unfortunately, being very visible online can put at risk for being assaulted. The number of cases where women are being assaulted and even killed by people that found them on the Internet is growing every year. Do you do enough to protect yourself when you're online?

Dating Safety

More than 75% of the women who are assaulted each year are assaulted by someone they know, usually on a date. Dating safety is very important. Naturally when you are dating someone you want to give them the benefit of the doubt. Most women let their guard down on a date because they think their date would never hurt them or that if the date was untrustworthy they'd be able to see it. Unfortunately most predators don't come with a sign identifying them as predators, and by the time you figure out they are predators it's too late. So it's very important that you be on your guard on a date, just the same way that you are on the street.

Safety in a Relationship

You might think that your relationship is perfectly healthy when really your partner is someone that might assault or hurt you. Most women are attacked or killed by someone they know and often someone they love. Domestic violence is the single largest cause of injury to women. Millions of women are beaten or assaulted by their partner every year and thousands more are murdered by their spouses. It doesn't matter what your job is, how much money your have or where you live, how much education have or what your social status is. Domestic violence occurs in 60% of all marriages and can be found in every type of family. Most of the time women who are married to abusive men don't realize right away that the man is abusive or has abusive tendencies and by the time they do realize it they feel trapped.

A woman might stay with abusive because she feels powerless, or because she is financially dependent on him, or because she wants to stay close to her children. There are lots of reasons why women stay with men who have or might assault or even kill them.

Sometimes women do fight back and kill their abusive spouse. Usually when women who are abused by men fight back the self defense laws do not protect them because the law doesn't recognize the effect that years of abuse and assault can have on a woman's mental state. Some experts estimate that as many as 90% of the women who are in prison for committing a violent crime are there are because they killed an abusive spouse. If you have an uneasy feeling about someone that you are dating or if sometimes the person that you are dating or your spouse makes you feel uncomfortable and disrespected then you should always listen to that feeling. Your intuition could be warning you that the person you are in a relationship with might be showing abusive tendencies.

There are 10 common signs of an abusive personality. If your boyfriend or spouse shows more than three of these signs then it might be time for you to end the relationship because things get worse. If you are involved with someone that is potentially abusive you should get out before he assaults you, rapes you, or hits you. Once you know that a person has abusive tendencies chances are very good that at some point he will cross the line and attack you.

Sure, you still have to be on your guard but the more that you learn about self defense and the more that you trust your instincts about people the more you will find that you are drawn to people that you can trust. And you will be more confident when you know that no matter what happens you are prepared. Knowing how to protect yourself in any situation will give the freedom to do whatever you want in life and achieve anything that you want.

It happens every day. You need to really accept that and be prepared, but you can't let that rule your life. You can't hide inside your house or cower every time someone passes you on the street. Learning self defense is about learning to take control of your life, your safety and your body.

Good luck to you on your journey of Life, and stay safe!

Does IBS Cause Anxiety? 8 Tips for Anxiety Relief

Anyone with Irritable Bowel Syndrome knows that IBS causes anxiety. Not knowing when bowel symptoms will strike is enough to make the calmest person feel stress and anxiety.

Apart from being unpredictable, IBS symptoms may cause you anxiety in a couple of other ways:

- Chronic diarrhea is dehydrating, and your body reacts to dehydration as a threat to your survival because humans need water. Not having enough is a stress that makes you anxious, depressed and tired. It's not a psychological problem; it's a signal from your brain and body that you're in danger.

- Chronic constipation is another stress that can make you anxious because of the build-up of toxins in the intestines. When your body is holding onto toxins, it can also react with headaches and nausea.

- In my experience, people with digestive disorders are often sensitive to chemicals and scents in common household and personal care products. Some chemicals are neurotoxins which means they disrupt the way signals are sent between your brain and your body. This is another cause of anxiety.

- When you are awake at night because of pain or several trips to the bathroom, you're not getting the sleep you need. Sleep deprivation is a source of stress and anxiety for people with IBS and for millions of others.

- When you're stressed by symptoms, anxiety can cause your mind to go blank. This can cause problems with work, school, or in any part of your life where you need mental concentration, which brings on yet more anxiety. It's a vicious circle.

So what can you do about it?

When you're feeling anxious because IBS is ruining your day yet again, here are some tips for natural anxiety relief:

1. A study at the University of Miami School of Nursing showed that taking an essence solution for anxiety had a comparable effect to pharmaceutical drugs but with no side effects.

What's an "essence solution"? It's a plant- or gemstone-based liquid that rebalances your nervous system for a calming effect. Two good ones are ETS+ by Perelandra Ltd and Rescue Remedy by Bach Flower Essences.

2. With two fingers, firmly hold these acupressure points for one to two minutes:

- Heart 7: Find the crease of your wrist at the base of your palm. Imagine drawing a line straight down your palm from your little finger to that wrist crease. Hold the point where that line would meet the crease. Good for fear, nervousness and anxiety.

- Circ 6: On the inside of your forearm, hold the point that is two and a half finger-widths up from the wrist crease. This point is in the middle of the forearm, not to either side. Good for nausea, anxiety and palpitations.

3. Use EFT tapping. EFT, the Emotional Freedom Technique, works for both short- and long-term anxiety relief. You can also use it to relieve the physical symtoms and pain of IBS. If you don't know how to tap, visit Youtube and look for Instant Anxiety Relief for Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

4. Eat soluble fiber foods or take soluble fiber supplements to help with both diarrhea and constipation. Relieving these two digestive stresses will help to relieve the anxiety that comes with them.

5. Clear the chemical and chemically-scented products out of your life, and especially from your bedroom, to stop them from stressing your digestive system, your immune system and your nervous system, and keeping you awake at night. This will help to relieve physical symptoms as well as insomnia and anxiety.

6. Once you're feeling calmer, drink some good, filtered water to get re-hydrated. Water can be calming all by itself.

7. Breathe deeply and slowly, while you walk slowly through your house, thinking calming thoughts. Your heart races when you are anxious. You can slow it down by taking a deep breath then exhaling more slowly than you inhale. Deep breathing is probably the oldest form of anxiety relief on the planet. And it's free!

8. When your mind goes blank, breathe deeply and slowly. Now, using your fingers, gently feel your forehead moving from your eyebrows up towards your hairline. Do you feel those slight bumps that curve out about half-way up your forehead above your eyebrows? Hold those bumps with your fingertips or by placing your whole hand across your forehead, and keep breathing with long, slow exhales. Hold for at least one minute.

Holding these points will bring the blood back into the front part of your brain, which is responsible for language and analytical thinking, and will help to calm you down. This technique is especially helpful when you are in a test, exam or other stressful situation and need to be able to think more clearly.

Natural Anxiety Relief - Via Mind, Body, and Soul

Some of us want natural anxiety relief not only due to the fact we want to steer clear of drugs, but also because we trust remedies from nature or prefer healing techniques that are gentle, safe, and non-invasive. And we want some way of feeling calm rather than hyper, stressed-out, wound-up and anxious.

Such relief can be considered under the headings "mind, body, and soul or spirit" for practical reasons as follows, even though we humans are unified beings so that there is overlap between parts. What affects 1 affects the others. Techniques that integrate aspects of various parts frequently prove the most successful. Slow breathing methods (see below) is 1 example.

I. Natural Anxiety Relief via the Mind

The mind is a powerful organ that influences health. It is identified that attitude affects immune cells, for example. And what we believe affects how we feel.

1 aspect of anxiety is mental and cognitive. We think morbid thoughts about what may possibly take place if something bad happened. We keep in mind bad issues in the past and we relive the anxious or other emotions of that memory.

One proven technique of regaining a sense of tranquility and stability begins with recognizing and analysing the morbid thoughts. Are they rational and reasonable? Is there a silver lining? Has a feasible positive spin been overlooked? Is the "what if" scenario probable? How poor was it genuinely or how poor could it be in the future?

The most disciplined approach is to maintain a journal and written record of the thoughts. Negative-countering positive affirmations can then be created, recorded, and rehearsed repeatedly to train one's mind.

The mind can also sometimes reach a point of accepting bad possibilities even though they are poor, or accepting that poor possibilities as some thing 1 can deal with and live with, not that they necessarily will occur.

Or the mind can believe of folks to call, ways of finding assist, resources to use, and actions to take in order to decrease or eliminate anxiety.

II. Natural Anxiety Relief by means of the Body

But the mind can be influenced by way of the body or by means of healthy or damaging chemicals. Hormones can affect mood. Toxins or disease can throw off metabolic processes in the central nervous system. Blood and oxygen flow matter in the brain. Nutrition affects brain function, and some herbs, amino acids, and vitamins can assist one feel calm. We are not necessarily slaves to chemicals or to our body, but there is an influence there.

Our mood can be improved via normal aerobic exercise and muscle stretching exercises like Yoga. Exercise increases "excellent-feeling" endorphins in the brain and increases the body's ability to remove lactic acid from the brain. Diet and nutrition may possibly hinder or improve a sense of well-being. Magnesium or other mineral supplements have been known to be useful to some. Caffeine, sugar, and alcohol need to normally be avoided by anxiety sufferers. Regular optimal sleeping habits ought to be observed.

For this latter, normally one ought to stay away from late night snacks or caffeine, be in bed before 11 PM, and use some relaxation approach prior to bedtime. Snoring can negatively affect sleep, oxygen in the brain, mood, and general sense of well-being.

Interestingly, a percentage of anxiety sufferers have low body temperature. This is usually related to low thyroid activity, and can usually be comparatively effortless to correct as students of Wilson's Temperature Syndrome know.

1 of the simplest and often extremely effective natural anxiety treatments is slow nasal breathing via the diaphragm. Hyperventilation is frequent among anxiety sufferers, probably as part of a mistaken "fight or flight" response. Hyperventilation can actually improve anxiety symptoms as feelings of unreality, dizziness, light-headedness, and numbness in extremities creep in.

Slow nasal breathing via the diaphragm (a muscle sheath below the lungs) increases oxygen/carbon dioxide exchange efficiency in comparison to shallow breathing by means of the mouth. In anxiety sufferers, the breathing ought to be self-consciously slowed using regular breathing exercises.

III. Natural Anxiety Relief via the Soul

Of course personal views on the human soul or spirit vary. Arguably there is some thing in the human will, sense of purpose, determination, self-idea, motive, and so on that affects the body and the brain. And arguably, effects works conversely too.

In any event, numerous have found anxiety relief in prayer, meditation, and a variety of forms of rest. Rest may even consist of a enjoyable hobby or distraction, a conversation with a friend, or a walk in a stunning place.

And there are those who have overcome entrenched troubles with anxiety by way of somewhat mysterious changes in attitude or will. If typical life is a far more of a challenge to you than for typical folks, you have a higher chance to develop the strength of spirit needed to push by means of to overcoming anxiety.

Caring For Damaged Epidermis

Poor skin might be attributed to a variety of things, those being genetic inheritance, lousy weather, or merely bad hygiene. In some instances, it may just be incorrect cleanliness . If bad health stems from a lack of hygiene, then poor hygiene outcome from incorrect care. Not everyone is produced equal, least of all in their skin. Knowing and being at ease in one's own epidermis can lead to lifelong rewards.

Long-term acne could be a manageable life solution. The catalyst is dry skin, and for those who suffer from acne pimples normally suffer from epidermis that is either too dry or not dry enough. This could be prevented by not overdoing the routines of regularly cleanliness . As a tip, splash the facial area with cold h2o before washing with warm h2o; and after washing, splash with cold h2o once more. This may ensure that the sensitive pores will be closed during agitated rinsing, thus minimizing the impacts of sensitive skin. If washed too roughly or frequently, dry epidermis will chap and flake. The loose skin particles will trigger even more episodes than from unhealthy bacteria and dust alone.

Remnants of chronic pimples appear in the form of unsightly scars and, eventually, keloids. Keloids are lumps of damaged or dead tissue that resemble cysts. Usually inactive, keloids sometimes spread and persist on their own, even without the presence of acne pimples. There is no sure topical remedy in the removal of keloids. For that, oral therapy is critical. The recently approved Accutane helps to lessen the visual appeal of keloids; though it works indirectly by minimizing the oil glands that irritate the epidermis. For direct treatment of keloids and cysts, an injection of cortisone is the most frequent answer. Cortisone triggers a reaction in the immune system that helps your body fight inflammatory ailments. Once injected, its has an effect on could take as long as a few days to fully work. The lumps may still persist, but injections support to soften them, thus making it less complicated to gradually repair.

Chemical peeling is priceless in the treatment of acne pimples marks. Skin damage sometimes impacts the outer epidermis, and peeling it away to reveal the newer, untouched epidermis is aesthetically efficient. But peeling should only be accomplished after the pimples has subsided and little keloids remain. Peeling will expose brand-new, sensitive epidermis, thereby increasing the potential for infection; any presence of acne will no doubt raise that risk.

In the long term, lotions and body oils will lead to unbalanced skin if used improperly, mainly excessively. They supply the body with more oils, and too much body moisture is a popular cause for pimples and other topical issues. Know one’s body before investing in pricey topical remedies. For those hurting from persistent acne pimples and keloids, current investigate indicates that the oil extracted from the emu bird contains nutritional buildings that aid your skin in healing, as opposed to just eradicating germs and excess oil.

Normal anxiety is what we feel when we are a bit anxious about something.. a job interview, or a doctor's appointment etc. With Anxiety disorder the symptoms are much more severe...such as difficulty controlling worry, Restlessness and being on edge, difficulty concentrating or mind blankness, irritability, social impairment and impairment in other major areas of functioning.

Panic Attack Symptoms

Anyone who has suffered from panic attacks will know they are absolutely terrifying, you literally feel like you are going to die. It's Not My Job to Free Tibet

I hate saying that. It feels so very wrong. It's not that I wouldn't like to help them. It's not that I am not appalled at what is happening over there. I have been wrestling with my guilty feelings lately. What have I done to make the world a better place? I started by taking inventory of the areas that I'd love to 'fix'. My to-do list looks like this:

Free Tibet

Heal the hole in the ozone layer

Cure Cancer

Save the endangered species

Overhaul the public school system

Raise my own kids

Defend the gays and lesbians

Teach people how to be happy

Solve world hunger

Find loving homes for the orphans

Save the rainforest

Rid the planet of pollution

Implement a clean economical fuel system

Design a quality inexpensive health care system

End divorces and broken homes

Clean out the political system

Create world peace

Find Atlantis and solve the mystery of the pyramids

Scientifically prove somebody's religion is true

Psychologically heal the inmates who want it

End all superficial fakeness

Save the children

Stop racism

Bring an end to lethargy

Stop terrorism

Save the coral reefs

Change America's focus from being 'politically correct' to becoming 'spiritually correct' and I'm not talking about religion

It all gets a bit overwhelming. How can I ever accomplish all of these things in my lifetime? Even if I delegate certain areas to my kids, and make them take a blood oath that they will force my grandkids to carry on with the work on this list until it is finished, I cannot possible hope to solve all of the world's problems. Then I got to thinking about getting up on my soapbox and preaching to everyone that they need to come help me. There is just so much that needs done and you and I both know that my list is not even complete. I would be lucky if I can do one of those things really well during my lifetime.

I had to sit and really think about my own resources, the natural gifts I was born with, and what amount of time I want to commit to doing good deeds. I had to analyze the list and what it would really take to accomplish each of those things. What I came to realize is that there are some that I am called to do, some that I just want to do, and still others that I secretly wish someone else would do. That's not a bad thing, it is what it is. I may really want to cure cancer and other diseases, but I know that deep down I don't have any resources, skills, training, or education to apply to the problem. It's really not my job. All I can do is to support those who are meant to do that work. If I had the money, I'd dump a fortune into their pockets to make sure they had all of the tools they needed. But I don't have it to give, not yet anyway.

What if I do a little bit for each and every one? They say, "Every little bit counts!" You know if all I was giving was my money, then I'd say yes. Donate money to all of those causes. But, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about actually rolling up my sleeves and getting to work helping make the world a better place. I personally cannot fly all over the planet adding just a touch of my energy here and there. To truly create the huge changes needed to fix those problems, I would have to really give my undivided attention and focus. One hundred people giving a moment of their time is not as effective and powerful as just two or three people giving it all of their time and focus. If I am going to make a difference, then I will have to narrow the list down.

One by one, I had to scratch off the list those things that I personally could not do. That's not to say that I won't someday be able to help finance them. For now, I have to look at what I can actually roll my sleeves up and do with my own two hands. What are my talents best used for? What is my job? I picked from the list those things that were truly deeply mine. They are all areas that I also happen to feel a personal calling to be involved in. Everything else, I have to let go and trust that someone else will recognize that they have the talents and resources to become part of the solutions. I have to trust that whoever is meant to take on those jobs will feel a calling deep in their soul and that they'll heed that calling.

Another hard part for me is not knowing the divine plan. When bad things happen, we can sort of take comfort in knowing that there must be some divine reason. Somehow the challenges and dramas of life always lead to enlightenment, joy, new self esteem, or some other cosmic gift. Some things are meant to be. Some things are not meant to be. So, when I take that deep breath and trust that someone else is going to pick up that particular problem and give their life to solving it, I have to also make peace with the idea that it may not happen the way I would like to see it happen, or along the timeline that I'd like to see it happen. Who will free Tibet while I'm busy working on fixing these other things? Will they be saved in a timely manner? Will our government dive in to save them the way that they felt called to save other people? I can only pray that someone else picks up the baton because I cannot. Is it your job? Will you free Tibet?
